I teared up a little when I found this site.

First, the photo is from Bluemoon. But it's not her site, but rather the site she recommended, that I am weeping for joy upon finding. The Meat Guy. Meat. Cheese. Duck! In Japan! To my rural Saga-ken door!
I wanna cook a duck just like she did.

  1. Wow, that was fast. Glad you were happy to find The Meat Guy. Let us know if you order anything and how it turns out.

You might also find this thread from eGullet to be useful: http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?s=d543fd8447170c9ac978ef41f33b5400&showtopic=32780
It's a very complete list of shops selling import foods.

  2. This site looks too good to be true. I can order Roo Mince? Ostrich patties?? It's like being at home in Charleston again! (And like my favorite restaurant was still open...poor Charleston Chops...how I mis thee...) I am gonna have to have a go at this when I have a bit of spare cash. The only downer with the cheese menu is that it doesn't have any provolone or other staple cheeses for me on there...sad. Ha ha. Awesome find! Thanks, Clay and bluemoon.

  3. remember, Deas, you may be able to find Ostrige as close as your local izakaiya! Though it's usually in sashimi form. I also ate frog legs the other night at one. I thing I feel a food vlog coming on.

  4. If only there was a "cheese guy", too. Japan lacks cheese. Well, they have cheddar, but I'm talking about REAL cheese, like Gorgonzola.

  7. I read somewhere that something like 70% of the population in Asia is lactose intolerant. If that's true, it could explain what's up with the lousy cheese selection. If it's not, then it's a fun pretend fact to throw around.

  8. it's not necesary to read in magazines that 100% of population is tolerant toward true french cheese.(laughht)
